A little help along the way

Help & guides

Find your way around, save something meaningful, or get a little help. You don’t need to know astrology to begin.

00 · Your first few minutes

Start here

New to astrology or Moving Stars? Take three small steps, at your own pace.

Sign in to take the walkthrough

1. Add your birth details

Enter your birth date, time, and city. Your birth chart maps the sky when you were born. If you don’t know the time, check Birth time is unknown. We use 6:00 a.m. as a placeholder; your Rising sign and houses cannot be confirmed. You can update it later.

2. Find your chart again

Choose You in the main navigation for your personal birth chart. People holds all your saved charts, including anyone you add later.

3. Try a first question

Choose New talk (the pencil button) and ask, “What does my chart say about me? Explain it simply.” Your conversation is saved in Talks.

You can skip or pause the walkthrough and return here anytime. Replaying it uses your existing chart.

01 · The map

Finding your way

The main navigation takes you to Today, People, Talks, Insights, and You. The menu button in the upper-right corner opens Memory, Learn, Start here, Help & guides, and account options.

See the current sky, follow the Moon, and explore what it means for your chart.

Talks

People

Birth charts for you and the people whose patterns you want to explore—with their permission.

Help & guides

Start here reopens the walkthrough whenever you need a refresher.

02 · Your living sky

Today

Today helps you explore the current sky alongside your birth chart.

Moon Watch

Follow the Moon’s phase and how much of it is lit. When personal context is available, see its current sign and house in your chart.

Today’s transits

See the current Sun and Moon placements and which planets are retrograde (appearing to move backward from Earth).

Today’s daily horoscope

Open your daily horoscope for a personal reading. It explores transits: connections between planets in the sky now and your birth chart.

Explore your Moon

Starts a conversation about the Moon with the relevant context already included.

Astrology describes patterns and timing. You still decide what fits, what matters, and what you do next.

03 · Begin anywhere

Ask Moving Stars

Start with whatever is on your mind. Everyday language is welcome.

Type or speak

Type your question, or use the microphone to dictate it. Allow microphone access if your browser asks.

Add context

Use the attachment controls to add a supported file or a saved chart. For a question about someone else, choose their chart so Moving Stars knows who you mean.

Ask follow-ups

Stay with the same Talk when you want Moving Stars to remember the immediate thread of the conversation.

Finished

This means Moving Stars has completed that response. It is not a score or judgment about your conversation.

Try asking

  • What are my Sun, Moon, and Rising signs?
  • What does this transit mean in everyday life?
  • I’m feeling overwhelmed. Where should I start?

04 · Return and reflect

Talks

Talks keeps your conversations so you can return to them and notice how your understanding changes over time.

Search and filter

Find a conversation by title or content, then switch between Talks, Favorites, and Archived.

Organize a Talk

Open a Talk, then open the main menu to favorite it, archive or unarchive it, edit its title, or go back to the top.

Keep a copy

Open a saved Talk and choose Download PDF from the main menu to keep a copy.

Begin again

The pencil button starts a new Talk without removing any earlier conversations.

05 · People and patterns

People & charts

People is your private collection of birth charts for yourself and the people or events you want to understand with care.

Add a chart

Choose Add chart and enter the birth details. Once the chart has been calculated, you can explore it or bring it into a Talk.

Categories

Group charts in a way that makes sense to you, move them between categories, and drag to reorder them.

Chart actions

Edit a chart, open a Talk with it, move it to another category, or delete it.

Accurate birth details

Birth time and location affect time-sensitive placements. Use the best information available and hold uncertain details lightly.

Only add another person’s birth information when you have permission. A chart cannot prove their thoughts, identity, fidelity, health, or future behavior.

06 · What you keep

Insights & Memory

Insights keep reflections. Memory keeps life events and turning points. You choose what is worth keeping.

Save words from a Talk

Highlight a passage and choose Save insight. Review the selection, add an optional note, then choose Save insight to confirm. Moving Stars keeps your selected words; it does not rewrite or summarize them. Spacing may be simplified.

Write your own Insight

Open Insights to write a reflection, or search, edit, and archive what you’ve saved. You can also ask in a Talk: “Save this as an insight,” with the words you want to keep.

Add an event to Memory

Open Insights, then choose the Memory tab and Save a passage. Enter a Sky or life theme, describe the event under Saved words, add its Date, and choose Create. “Starting my new job” is enough for a theme. No astrology terms needed.

Remember an event in a Talk

Try “Remember this: I started my new job today.” Include the date for an earlier event. Check the saved-event confirmation in the reply, then open Memory to review the details. Relevant transit context may be included.

An event or a reflection?

“I started a new job” is an event for Memory. “I can feel nervous and still be ready” is a reflection for Insights. You can save either or both. Saving an Insight does not turn it into a Transit.

You stay in charge

Living Memory is optional; use its switch in Memory to turn it on or off. You can review, edit, archive, or delete saved items. Later conversations can draw on relevant saved Insights without bringing them into every reply.

You can also open Memory directly from the main menu. Anything you save can change as your understanding grows.

07 · Your foundation

You

You is home to your personal birth chart, also called your natal chart. Take it one part at a time.

The natal wheel

The circle maps planets, signs, houses, and the major angular relationships between planets.

Sun, Moon, and Rising

Often called your Big Three: the Sun relates to identity, the Moon to emotional needs, and Rising to how you meet the world.

Moon phase and signature

See the Moon’s phase at birth and your chart signature: the balance of elements (Fire, Earth, Air, Water) and ways of approaching change.

Small help controls

Open the nearby question-mark explanations whenever a chart term is unfamiliar.

Open the full birth chart when you want every placement, aspect, house, and chart setting.
